Balatonfüred — the town with the most marinas, the classic Tagore promenade, top restaurants.
Siófok — on the southern shore, quick to reach by car from Budapest, the liveliest "party town" on the lake.
Tihany — the most photogenic destination, ideal for a sunset sail.
Alsóörs — smaller crowds, a modern marina, with Balatonfüred nearby as a mooring destination.
Balatonlelle — on the southern shore, a modern fleet, easy for a group to gather from the south or from Budapest too.
How much does a hen-party sail cost?
johajot.hu's average prices for a hen-party setup:
Half-day boat (4 hours, 6 people): HUF 40,000–70,000 for the boat + HUF 12,000–20,000 for the skipper
Full-day boat (8 hours, 6–8 people): HUF 70,000–120,000 for the boat + HUF 25,000–35,000 for the skipper
Weekend rental: HUF 150,000–250,000 for the boat + a daily skipper fee

Frequently asked questions
Does someone in the group need a sailing license?
No. If you choose a package with a skipper (recommended if there will be alcohol on board), the skipper brings both the qualification and the responsibility.
Can you bring alcohol on board?
Yes, most boat owners allow it when you book with a skipper. If you're steering the boat yourself, the person at the helm may not drink.
How many people fit on a boat?
On johajot.hu you'll find boats for 2 to 12 people. For hen parties, boats for 6–10 people are the most popular — check the filter.
What happens if a storm rolls in?
In the event of a serious storm warning, the skipper decides in favor of safety; the booking can be moved to another date, or the owner refunds the fee. The exact terms are always set out at the time of booking.
How far in advance should I book?
In peak season (June–August) we recommend booking 3–6 weeks ahead, and up to 2 months for a sunset sail on a Saturday. In the shoulder season (April–May, September) 1–2 weeks is usually enough.
Can we order food and drinks for the boat?
